One of my biggest “Eureka” moments with oils was right after having my second child. My birth story with my 1st was not the beautiful experience that a 1st time mom hopes for. We ended up in an emergency cesarean after 24 hours of labor and my Dr. delivered a 10.3 lb angel of a baby boy. Thank the Lord that everyone was healthy and happy but it also left me with a hard recovery and a big scar.
When we found out I was pregnant with our 2nd child, we already knew that it would be a repeat c-section. By this time I had introduced oils into our home and I was bound to have a different experience with my surgery recovery. I searched the knowledge of fellow oilers and I was gifted with this amazing roller recipe:
30 Drops Helichrysum – Key Ingredient For Healing & Circulation
30 Drops Frankincense – Great for Skin in Many Ways & Anti-Infectious
30 Drops Juniper – Nerve Support, Cleanser & Diuretic
30 Drops Lavender – Anti-Inflammatory & Skin Cell Renewal + 10000 more reasons
This is a very strong recipe. I would normally only have 30 drops in a 10ml roller for an adult’s every day use. I knew I would need a super roller so I ordered all of these oils and had it ready before our scheduled delivery.
I was in the hospital for 4 days postpartum and I did not use the roller during this time. I wanted to give my incision a little time to close up before introducing the oils. *Just as a disclaimer, the doctors and nurses did tell me not to put anything on the incision and you will probably get this same advice. I am not a doctor so please come to your own decision.*
Around day 5, once we were home, my husband helped me apply the roller AROUND the incision but not ON it. We did that at least twice a day for about a week. Once I saw a noticeable improvement, I started to apply the roller AROUND and ON the incision and continued applying at least twice a day. Preston and I definitely knew this was a world of difference in healing from my first experience but the validation came on day 14 when I went in for my 1st post operation check up at my Dr.’s office.
The nurse practitioner (who I hadn’t seen before at the practice) examined me and then checked her chart. She had a confused look on her face so I asked what was going on. She asked me “How long ago did you have your baby?” I told her “2 weeks.” She then said “There is no way. Your incision healing looks like it is at least 6-8 weeks post surgery.”
WOW guys! I literally giggled on the exam table and was so excited to tell her about the oils I have been using to help with the healing. She eagerly listened and said that she would have to share that with her other patients. I found out later that all of the nurses in the practice found out about my super healing incision from her.
This recipe can be used for all kinds of wound healing and scar appearance reduction. I have passed along this gold to others who have also used it with success (read Petey’s post about his dad HERE)
I hope that you can find as much happiness and gratification with this recipe as we have. Enough to giggle 🙂
